SMT was the co-promoter of the NANOSENSORES project, which aimed to develop self-healing coatings for aeronautical structures subjected to mechanical impacts.
SMT’s participation in the NANOSENSORES project was important for establishing a national network in the aeronautical market and for positioning the company at the forefront of the development of new “smart” coatings for impact detection.
This project was approved under the “Sistema de Incentivos à Investigação e Desenvolvimento Tecnológico – Empresas / Projectos em Co-promoção” and was led by AEROHELICE and SMT, with Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade and the Associated Laboratory CICECO from the University of Aveiro as co-promoters.
